Welcome to the Rickerstong Scholarship Award.

This scholarship was established in the spring of 2018 to honor the life of Brison Ricker. This scholarship is open to all seniors at Cedar Springs High School where Brison attended and will be awarded to one individual annually focusing on rewarding ambitious, driven, goal-oriented individuals. Our goal is to choose an applicant each year that has the "Live Like Brison" attributes. We were proud to award the 2023 scholarship to Cole Detloff

What does it mean to Live Like Brison

Brison had such a passion for life and through hard work, determination and perseverance he excelled in all areas of his life. He was a great student and an exceptional athlete. He played travel soccer for most of his life, had amazing skills on the field and was a true team player. As a freshman, he was awarded best offensive player of the year on the Varsity team! Brison was also a talented basketball player and track star. Dirt bike racing was what he loved most and spent a great deal of time traveling around the state racing motocross. In 2015 he was second in the state in both classes that he raced. He always strived to do his best and be the best he could be. His attributes don't stop there. He was a leader amongst his peers, he showed kindness, compassion & respect to everyone and set an example for his peers, by being there for the new kid, the kid who was getting picked on, or was having a bad day. Brison could light up any room with his smile and his witty, humorous personality and made others happy just being around him. He was loved by many and true inspiration to all.
